Synopsis:
Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who is of course based on the beloved children's books with the message of inclusion and protecting those who can't protect themselves. Most of the content is appropriate for all ages, with the exception of some scary monkeys and a scary vulture. In the end, even these characters turn out to be funnier than scary.
The movie starts with Horton in the jungle. He has already earned the reputation of not always complying with the "jungle rules", or so says the Kangaroo. With his encouragement of abstract thinking and imagination, he is loved by the children. When he starts carrying a clover and talking to a speck, even his closest friends question his sanity. Meanwhile, down in Whoville, the Mayor is facing a similar situation in trying to save the town from the invisible elephant in the sky. The most touching moment of the movie is at the end (SPOILER ALERT) when the voice of one boy makes all the difference in their little world.
Kids will walk away from the movie with positive messages like accepting people no matter what and always being true to your word...a definite must see for kids of all ages.
