COMMENTARY:
The Houston Auto Show was a definite success this year. With hundreds of new model cars and concept cars, there was an exciting display to look at in every direction. Using lights, informative signs, presenters and interactive features, the displays contributed to the overall excitement of the show. Traffic was reasonable inside but did get a little too crowded later in the afternoon. Kids 12 and under are free and The Kids Zone was pretty good. With and obstacle course, crash course, moon walks, face painting, temporary tattoos, bean-bag toss, tire shoot-out and arts & crafts, children of all ages enjoyed the excitement too (expect long lines and long waits for the moon walk and obstacle course).
We recommend attending the Houston Auto Show at least once, but as anything, there were some disappointments. First, there were no Ferrari's and some of the displays seemed inaccessible with the barriers placed far away and the doors closed. Second, parking was high (expect to pay $8 in parking) and the food was a little expensive for regular fast food. But that is really it; overall, the Houston Auto Show is decent Family Fun.
