The Houston Family Arts Center (HFAC) is a non-profit organization established to provide a fun outlet for creative community involvement through the production of affordable, high-quality, family-friendly entertainment.

We produce original and established theatrical works for family audiences while incorporating high artistic quality and cultural diversity.  We strive to inspire adults, teens, and children by providing a safe and encouraging environment that fosters creativity, respect, healthy personal growth, character development and family involvement.  We are dedicated to building long-term relationships with our actors, patrons and community by providing exceptional entertainment and education.

Help Build Stronger Families
Where can today’s family go to see great theatre that is affordable, appropriate, and enjoyable for the whole family?  Houston Family Arts Center believes that theatrical excellence is achievable within an atmosphere of positive values.  Our vision is for a theatre where families work together on all aspects of a production, where patrons of all ages enjoy attending theatre productions together without embarrassment, and where  actors of all ethnic backgrounds, ages and experience levels work together and learn from each other.   Patrons and actors benefit from our high standards for excellence, for fairness, and for education. In addition, we work hard to make sure that this experience is affordable and available to everyone.

Through theatre, individuals grow in confidence, character, and acting skills, and families grow closer. Part of the magic of theatre is the relationships that are formed.  Not only do our actors learn about every aspect of live theatre and how all the parts fit together to make a whole; they also are sharing, making new friends and having fun!

HFAC continues to expand our horizons, but the vision never changes! With every audition, more and more families are discovering Houston Family Arts Center. Come see what it's all about!

Learn to Act, Sing, Dance, and More!
The HFAC Actor’s Academy opened its doors on January 26, 2009.  Our primary goal is to provide a comprehensive curriculum that provides a well thought out scope and sequence
of classes and workshops to develop the acting skills of child, teen, and adult actors. Throughout the school year and during the summer, we offer classes in acting, singing, audition preparation, dialects, dancing, and more.  These classes provide actors of all ages with the skills and confidence they need to participate in our main stage plays and musicals, which often have inter-generational casts.

          severely wounded troops.
