WHAT PARAMOUNT PICTURES SAYS:
Eddie Murphy stars as a successful financial executive who has more time for his blackberry than his seven-year-old daughter. When he has a crisis of confidence and his career starts going down the drain, however, he finds the solution to all his problems in his daughter's imaginary world.
OUR REVIEW:
Paramount Pictures might have missed the mark on who exactly the audience is for Imagine That. While the storyline is pretty fantastical, there are no extraordinary characters to really keep the interest of younger children. In fact, the deliverance of the story will pretty much loose most kids with the concept of the dad receiving financial advice from imaginary princesses. Way over the heads of little one.
On the flip side, there is not enough content to the movie to hold the interest of adults. While cute, and sometimes funny, the overall message is to spend more time with your children and less time on being successful outside of the home; A better message for a more complicated, dramatic movie than a light hearted fairy tale comedy.
Overall the movie is going to leave viewers disappointed.
