For our first PARENTS ONLY restaurant review, there is only one place we could think of to find all the best of Houston food, drinks, live music and beautiful people...La Strada, specifically Sunday Brunch.
La Strada describes their Sunday Brunch as not "your grandmother's after church luncheons. This is where Saturday nights carry on into the next day" and they did not disappoint. To start, the atmosphere is very "under the Tuscan sun" with rich mosses, gingers and crimsons. Downstairs is a more relaxed elegant dining experience, but upstairs is where the social gathering starts. A live DJ hosts a variety of music from techno to classic party and there are several spaces to get up and dance.
La Strada's signature Bellini's are a must try and the best deal is to buy a pitcher and share among the group. The wine selection has options for both the casual wine drinker and the wine connoisseur. Bartenders are also happy to make any specialty concoction you can think of.
The lunch menu is classic Italian cuisine with the finest picks of fruit, spices, vegetables, sauces and meats. Our best compliments to the Chef(s) as every dish ordered was mouth-watering and the presentation was impeccable.
The most important part of any dining experience, breakfast, lunch or dinner, is the service. Our server was spot on and readily available for all of our requests. Drinks were always refilled, food was brought out promptly and when asked to take pictures, he was more than happy to help us capture our adventurous afternoon.
So why choose La Strada for your next date night or girls/boys night out? As parents, when you get the chance to spend adult time away from the kiddos, you want the best; the best location, the best atmosphere, the best drinks, the best food and the best service. La Strada offers the best of everything and is well worth the drive into downtown for an grand experience. Don’t forget to make reservations ahead of time as there will be crowds and don’t forget to bring you ID, as they are very strict that everyone be 21 or older.
