Synopsis:
Madagascar Escape 2 Africa delivers as a great sequel to the first Madagascar. In fact, it may even be better. The characters seem to have really exploded with personality and the funniest or most charming traits are magnified to keep audiences laughing, dancing and entertained.
The movie starts with a brief history of how Alex came to be Alex the Lion of the New York City Zoo. Fast forward to the present and the same crew, Alex, Gloria, Melman and Marty have partnered with the penguins to leave the island and head back to New York. Accompanied by King Julian and Maurice, it is no surprise their penguin designed air craft crash lands in Africa where the group find more of their own kind. More lions, more zebras, more giraffes and more hippos; all living together on a reserve where Zuba is their leader. It turns out, they have more in common with the African animals then they would have imagined and their journey to fit in is hilarious.
There are also several new characters, but none as funny as Moto Moto, "the name is so nice, you have to say it twicel" Madagascar Escape 2 Africa, just like the first Madagascar, has some crude humor. What is intersting about the dialogue, is that the jokes are in context with the story and are not obviously adult in nature. Meaning many, if not all the jokes will be way over the heads of kids. This combination of wittiness and sillyness makes the movie a must see for kids of all ages.
