Synopsis:
Night At The Museum is a fun movie with the biggest take away -- history actually turns out to be way cooler than what you have read in school. Although the movie does not make the best comic use of the concept, (the whole divorced father attempting to prove his worth to his child cliche), it would not be nearly as funny without the talents of the best comedic actors in the business.
The movie is about Larry, a divorced and unstable dad in desperate need of a steady paycheck in order to keep join custody of his son. When Larry gets hired at the Museum, he is not fore-warned about the magical awakening of the eshibits at night. We find out later this is caused by an Egyptian tablet. Larry chases lions, monkeys, cavemen, cowboys, dinosaurs and other historical characters through the halls, and looks to President Teddy Roosevelt for answers and help maintaining order.
This movie would have been appropriate for younger children had the use of bad language not bee present. While some of the scenes might be a little scary, we find out very quickly that ht echaracters in the museum are just a little mis-understood, and the violence is nothing too exreme. Overall, Night At The Museum is a fun movie that might even inspire your kids to use their imagination the next time they visit a museum.
