WHAT NICKELODEON SAYS:
The legend. The myth. Forever yearning for adventure, Rango has learned to play many roles while having trouble finding his own true character. But when trouble comes, this lizard has a way of surprising everyone with his audacity, including himself.
OUR REVIEW:
Rango is violent with gun fights and scary characters, uses quite a bit more language than most animated PG films and has many instances of smoking and drinking, all typical of classic western films. Families with smaller children will want to keep all this in mind and take the Parental Guidance rating very serious. Aside from some questionable content, Rango has a great message about discovering yourself, living up to your great potential and honoring your word. The characters are memorable and both loveable and grotesque. If it there were not so many uses of "hell" and "damn", we would love to watch it again, however, Rango is probably better suited for kids 13 and older.
