DIRECTIONS:

Red Rover is not a game for little kids since there is some rough physical contact.  We strongly recomend older kids play this game. 

The game is very simple.  Kids divide into two teams.  Forming two lines facing each other, kids hold hands and chant the song:

"Red rover, red rover send (child's name) right over!" (Kids will choose who to pick from the other line as a team before chanting the song)

The child picked leaves their side and runs to the other team trying to break the line where the other team is holding hands or locking arms. 

If the child running breaks the hold of the other team, that child gets to choose a player from the line to take back to their team.  If the child running does not break the line, that person becomes part of the team and the game continues.  

Each team takes turns picking a child from the other team regardless if the child running breaks the line or not.
