CRITIQUE:
There are several reasons Texas Roadhouse is one of the best restaurants for families with small children.
First, the tables surround the bar, so it has a very open and loud dining area. Should your toddler pitch a fit, or your 5 year old bump her elbow, the crying is going to just barely be heard.
Second, it is a mess...and that is a good thing. Texas Roadhouse allows visitors to eat peanuts from the shell and discard the shell whereever they happen to land. The floor is covered with peanut shells. Parents not only don't have to worry about making a big mess, the peanuts give little ones something fun to do while waiting for food.
Third, Texas Roadhouse prices their menu items very, very reasonably. You could get a drink, salad, steak and side for less than you could at the grocery store...and with no dishes.
Texas Roadhouse also allows guests to call in ahead of time for seating. For example, on a busy Friday night, if you call when you leave the house, or on your way, you can get on the wait list and end up waiting less at the restaurant. Parents know what a nice feature this is for skwirmy kids.
Family Fun Houston highly recommends families trying Texas Roadhouse for their next eating-out-adventure!
