CRITIQUE:
Houstonians have come to know The Cheesecake Factory has having a colossal menu, with a wide selection of delicious appetizers, entrees and gourmet cheesecakes. Dining is first class, staff are friendly and attentive and visitors will always walk away getting exactly what they were craving and then some.
With all the great things going on at The Cheesecake Factory, we are not totally sure this is a kid friendly restaurant for two main reasons. First, the location we visited does not offer colors, toys or any other child entertaining goodies to help kids stay occupied while families get settled ordering drinks and deciding what to eat. These time consuming items for kids are always welcome and show the restaurant is making an effort to create a comfortable experience for families. Second, THERE IS NOT A KIDS MENU! Our waiter suggested we select from the appetizer menu, which we did, for the kids and although the selection was great, we have to wonder what message a restaurant is sending to not have a kids menu.
Although we never felt unwelcome by the staff having two small children, (everyone was super friendly), we are more likely to visit a restaurant that makes an effort to keep our kids happy. However, that being said, a little planning can change everything. Now that we know what to expect, having coloring books, colors or toys packed prior to visiting The Cheesecake Factory is always an option. This way parents can keep kids happy and still enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and food The Cheesecake factory has to offer. Of course families with children who have outgrown the wiggles when visiting a restaurant should absolutely make The Cheesecake Factory a family favorite!
The best part…cheesecake to go. Don’t forget, there is cheesecake available at the bakery and walk-ins are welcome to pick up anything, anytime!
