WHAT NICKELODEON & PARAMOUNT SAY:
Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang discovers he is the lone Avatar whith the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara, a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka, to restore balance to their war-torn world.
Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live action feature film "The Last Airbender" is the opening chapter in Aang's struggle to survive.
OUR REVIEW:
The Last Airbender is a great epic story for kids with and empowering message that does have some violence, but seems more fantasy than real. With the fate of the world in the hand of one boy, his reluctance to step up and claim the huge responsibility is relateable to children growing up, looking to conquer the world (or maybe just math and spelling.) Aang does not however give into his temptations to run and hide and faces his fears to fight the Fire Nation in it's hostile take over.
The Last Airbender combines martial arts with comptur graphics very well and leaves the audience hanging for the next installment.
