DESCRIPTION:

There Was An Old Lady That Swallowed A Shell is an adorable book that will have your kids laughing, screaming and reading along.  As you may have guessed, "There was an old lady that swallowed a shell.  I don't know why she swallowed the shell, she did not tell."  The book then goes on to describe other beach items the old lady swallows; a crab, a fish, a seagull, a pail, sand and a wave.  Each with a specific purpose for swallowing.  At the end, it is just too much for the old lady to keep down, and since it was such a haslte...she finally burbs it all up into a sand castle.  Bet you didn't see that comming!  Nevermind the logical explaination of how she ingests all these things, it is a short, but fun book kids will love to read and recite.

Upon researching the book, we found this to be one of a collection of old lady swallowing things themed books.  You may be familar with There Was An Old Lady That Swallowed A Bell, ...A Bat, and don't forget the Cold Lady, who swallowed some snow.
