December 17, 2008, 2008 06:35pm My daughter wants to read the twilight books. She is 12, but I have read that some of the books are too racy for kids her age. I would love to get the opinion of other real moms, and not just writers or teachers saying whatever gets kids to read is a good thing.

I have read all 4 books in the Twilight Series (three times!), and I don't think they are too racey for a 12 year old. Actually, I think it would be good for a young women to read, because Bella is a virgin, and stays that way until she gets married, by choice. Now, in the last book, there is a little sex, but it isn't graffic or vulgar at all. Of course, I have a 2 year old boy, so...... but I would let my Goddaughter read it, and she is 11. Of course, only YOU know your child, so trust your instincts! Its great that she wants to read, though. Encourage that!!!! Good luck.
