Synopsis:

Although this adorable Pixar adventure is very charismatic, romantic and visually stimulating, the youngest viewers may get a little fidgety during the atmospheric, almost dialogue-free story, with few words said for the 103 minute running time. Very similar to "Tom & Jerry" story telling, kids younger than 4 will still enjoy WALL-E, but unlike older kids and adults they won't register the implied story. The action, which includes some fighting, weapons, explosions, and chase scenes, is all very G rated and there is no questionable material for little eyes to see.

The movie starts with 30 minutes of watching WALL-E and his daily routine.  He is a left behind trash management robot, and since Earth has not been able to sustain life in nearly 700 years; he is left alone.  His only friend is an indestructible cock-roach and an old tape of Hello Dolly!, which he plays over and over.  When a space-ship lands and leaves behind EVE, another robot, Wall-E is both frightened and excited to be her friend.  When her space-ship returns Wall-E catches a ride to space where Human life has continued, but only WALL-E & Eve have the missing piece to help them get back to Earth.

What we like best about WALL-E is how little is actually said.  The movie will take on a different meaning for each person depending on what you interpret the different movements and “facial” expressions to be.  Children will also see the movie differently at different ages.  Disney is also sending a powerful political message about taking care of the Earth and how Humans pay little attention to what is obvious all around them.  This movie is wonderful addition to the Pixar group and a must see for families with kids of all ages.

What Disney Says:

Academy Award-winning writer-director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) and the inventive storytellers and technical geniuses at Pixar Animation Studios (The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille) transport moviegoers to a galaxy not so very far away for a new computer-animated cosmic comedy about a dertmined robat named WALL-E.

After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL-E (shor for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and races back to space to report her findings tot he humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home).   Meanwhile, WALL-E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots.

Filled with surprises, action, humor and heart, WALL-E was written and directed by Andrew Stanton, produced by Jim Morris, co-produced by Lindsey Colisn and features original and innovative sound design by Academy Award-winner Ben Burtt (Star Wars, Indian Jones, E.T.).  The film is due for release on June 27, 2008
